Dear Berth Holder
This letter is to provide further information on the upcoming Battle of Britain Air Display scheduled for Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 18:30 to 20:00.
Due to the timing of the event, in most cases there will not be enough water over the sill to allow vessel access out of the marinas before the harbour restrictions are put in place. As a result, no entry or exit from St Peter Port Harbour or the QEII Marina will be permitted from 18:00 to 20:00.
Your Options for the Air Display
To ensure you are not caught by the tides or the restricted harbour access, we have two options for boat owners who wish to watch the show from their vessels:
•
Option 1: Morning Tide Exit You can get your boat out on the morning high tide. This is the simplest way to get your vessel out of the harbour before the restrictions begin. You must remain outside the designated restricted area, which will be marked by yellow buoys and patrolled by safety vessels.
•
Option 2: All-Tide Access ‘Swan’ Pontoons We are offering several spaces on our all-tide access visitor Swan Pontoons for the day. If you choose this option, you can move your boat on the morning tide, which will allow you to get out of the harbour on the evening tide just before the restrictions begin. Whilst you do not need to book a spot in advance, be aware that berthing may be limited, and rafting may be required.
Other Important Information
•
The restricted flying area is between latitude 49° 27.01’N and 49° 27.89’N and longitude 002° 30.5’W and 002° 31.41’W. Please refer to the attached Local Notice to Mariners for a detailed diagram of the restricted area. If you are on the water, VHF Channel 12 shall be always monitored.
•
Please note that any incursion into the flying display area may result in the termination of the entire show. Patrol boats will be on the water to ensure the area remains clear.
•
If you choose to watch the display from your vessel, you must stay outside of the restricted area.
