Mariners are advised that from 09:00 on 23rd August 2019, approved Personal Watercraft (PWC) users will be permitted to launch & recover their craft from La Crocq slipway in St Sampsons harbour.

To obtain a permit, PWC users must present their insurance documentation, proof of ownership and a description of their craft at the Harbour office in St Peter Port. They will be asked to complete an application document and will then be issued with a permit.

The permit will be valid for the individual person and the specific PWC. It must be up dated should a new craft be purchased by the permit holder, or their contact details change (failure to do so will result in the removal of the permit).

Any PWC’s launched & recovered in St Sampsons harbour must not impede the safe navigation of any commercial or pleasure vessels within the confines of the harbour / St Sampsons marina.

This is a relaxation, on a 6 month trial basis of the existing legislation concerning the launch and recovery of PWC within Guernsey ports and should not be abused.

Users are reminded that the launch and recovery of PWC within the confines of St Peter Port harbour remains prohibited under the Harbours Ordinance 1988.
