From Monday 2 May 2022 entry and exit into St Peter Port will be controlled by IALA “traffic lights”. These are internationally recognised signals that give the VTS Officer more flexibility over harbour movements.

The lights will apply to all vessels entering or leaving St Peter Port Harbour.

In St Sampson Harbour the display of three vertical red lights (No 2) will indicate that a large commercial vessel is entering or leaving St Sampson with a Pilot embarked. All other vessels shall not proceed until the lights are extinguished.

Failure to comply with these signals is an offence under Section 1 of the Harbours Ordinance, 1988.
